Collaborative Research Information Centres

Posted by Debora De Freitas at February 28. 2007

A pioneer example of the Collaborative Research
Information Centre in Northern Queensland (Australia) is the 'Herbert Information Research Centre (HIRC)'. Through a collaborative effort of local
stakeholder groups, the HRIC has its main mission to manage the acquision and
dissemination of geographic information within a collaborative framework.

Another good example of a collaborative group, is Atherton Table Lands GIS (ATGIS). They supply the GIS for a few surrounding councils and other user groups.
